As I spend most of my time working as a wedding photographer London I always jump at the chance to explore a new area. As soon as I had my first Skype chat with the wonderful Kim and Rob, I knew that I was going to shoot their Big Day! To say that I was looking forward to my first Welsh wedding was an understatement. For me, there is something truly special about being surrounded by the beautiful country landscapes. This was one wedding I knew would be special. Kim and Rob arranged for their ceremony to be held in the absolutely stunning St Mary’s Church in Rhossili.
If the beautiful setting of the ceremony wasn’t enough then the reception was going to be just as amazing in an entirely different way. The venue for the celebration is a new one but one that looks set to become incredibly popular for those who are looking to get married in South Wales. It’s called Carreg Adventure and is set in Reynoldston. The inside of the house is a traditional affair with plenty of space for all those family members to gather (all the better for me when it comes to getting all those amazing shots).

In comparison the reception itself was held in a beautifully decorated tipi in the grounds. These are amongst my favorite types of receptions to photograph. Rustic yet modern, contemporary yet traditional and with all of the family coming together in the space. It creates a deliciously intimate atmosphere too.The day was one absolutely packed full of beautiful moments, which I think are shown in the images that we captured. With family young and old and plenty of smiling faces, my first South Wales wedding is sure to not become my last. I have to say that I have completely fallen in love with the charms of the countryside and cannot wait to get back to Wales and work with some more Brides and Grooms on their big day.
